Now the fashion for large phones. However, more does not mean better. Phablets have to be held with two hands, they are heavy and do not always fit in your pocket. What to do to those who prefer small and elegant mobile phones?
Especially for them, we made a rating of the smallest smartphones in the world in 2019, which, although in many respects inferior to the best flagship smartphones of 2019, fit perfectly even in a tiny handbag.
10. Sony Xperia X1 Compact
Dimensions: 129 x 65 mm
Although “Sonya” looks massive against the background of other devices participating in the rating, it is second only to iPhone SE in terms of performance. She has 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, an eight-core chipset (Snapdragon 835 processor with a frequency of 2.45 GHz and 1.9 GHz). Once these specifications were at the flagship level, and now they are still good.
The metal case looks stylish and expensive, and has protection against water and dust. The 8MP front camera makes a good quality selfie. And the 2700 mAh battery will survive without recharging until the end of the day.
The only thing that leaves much to be desired is the screen. Although it has a diagonal of 4.6 mm, the resolution is only 720. This defect was corrected in the second “generation” of the device, Sony Xperia X2, but this product is already far from compact (its height is 143 mm).
9. BLU Vivo 5 Mini
Dimensions: 125.5 x 62 mm
If you were hoping that the mini version of the BLU Vivo 5 would look like an older brother, the BLU Vivo 5, only smaller, then you will be disappointed. However, something still remained - for example, the ability to record video with a resolution of 1080. Against the background of similar small devices, this is a big advantage.
Also, the device has two cameras, 5 MP and 3.2 MP. As for performance, here the performance of the model is mediocre. She has a quad-core MediaTek 6580 processor with a frequency of 1.3 GHz, however, they did not finish the smartphone with RAM - it is only 512 MB.
But they didn’t stint on the battery, which is not so common among compact smartphones, and put a 1500 mAh battery in the case. You can chat on the Vivo 5 Mini 24 hours in a row, and in standby mode it can be up to a month. In general, this is a good basic option if you need a small smartphone to make calls and send messages.
Interestingly, Vivo also produces one of the largest smartphones in 2019 - V15.
8. iPhone SE
Dimensions: 123.8 x 58.6 mm
Over the past few years, Apple has become infected with gigantomania, and each new smartphone was larger (and more expensive) than the previous one. A rare exception is the iPhone SE, released in 2016.
Although this phone was not positioned as a flagship, however, in its characteristics, it was close to that. It has the same processor (Apple A9) and the same amount of RAM (2 GB) as the then-flagship iPhone 6S.
The iPhone SE has a widescreen 4-inch screen with a resolution of 640 by 1136. The design did not disappoint either - the phone case is made of aluminum in two colors. And the camera is very good - at 12 MP, with True Tone LED flash and the ability to shoot video in 4K resolution. There is also a fingerprint scanner. Works iPhone SE on iOS 12.
In general, this is a very good phone and, importantly, it is much cheaper than its more massive relatives.
The main disadvantage of a smartphone is that it is discontinued. So if you really want to get an "apple" mini-toy, you have to buy it from hand.
7. Palm Phone
Dimensions: 96.6 x 50.6 mm
The rating of the smallest phones is continued by the device released last year by the Chinese company TLC. It was she who bought the once-famous line of Palm phones.
According to the creators of the Palm Phone, this mobile device will serve as a good addition to the “main” smartphone, serving as a kind of portable transmitter. With the design, the Chinese tried - the device is small and pleasant in appearance.
The 3.3-inch display is bright, clear, with good color reproduction, and its resolution (1280 x 720) is quite high for such a baby. There are two cameras with a resolution of 12 and 8 MP, and the memory capacity is 32 GB.
Unfortunately, this is all that can be said good about the phone, because its functionality leaves much to be desired. Performance (Snapdragon 435 SoC processor) is quite low, the battery charge is negligible, and the size of the screen is inconvenient when sending messages. Sometimes 3-4 characters are pressed immediately.
And the price is the worst - for the same $ 350-400 you can buy a good used iPhone SE, which is only a little more.
6. Sudroid SOYES Super Mini
Dimensions: 95 x 45 mm
This cell phone was clearly inspired by Apple products. True, it is about half miniature than the iPhone 7 Plus, which is very similar in appearance.
Of course, the product of Chinese craftsmen will not make iPhone competition in the performance field. But Soyes ate the dog (metaphorical) on small smartphones. She even managed to make a smartphone the size of a credit card!
Sudroid SOYES Super Mini has a screen diagonal of 2.54 inches and a resolution of 432 by 240 pixels. Under the “hood” is a 1.3 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. And although it visually looks like the phone has two cameras, in fact it is only one, and its resolution is 5 MP.
In the small case of the smartphone there is also a 600 mAh battery, so in profile it is quite plump - 10 mm. But he has a headphone jack, as well as 4G LTE and GPS.
5. Unihertz Jelly Pro
Dimensions: 92.4 x 43 mm
One of the smallest LTE smartphones is not so easy to use, it is so small. But that is the whole point! It is inexpensive, it is small (weight 60 g), so it easily fits in a jeans pocket.
Moreover, manufacturers, in addition to a SIM card and a battery, managed to shove a microSD card as well as two cameras into a 2.45-inch baby.
True, for such compactness you have to pay the fact that the version of Android on which the device works is greatly reduced in functionality. Although you can connect applications from Google Play, and most of them will work.
Well, the battery, of course, leaves much to be desired. It can withstand only two hours of watching a video, and if you leave the phone at night for 30% charge, it will turn off by morning. The Mediatek MT6737 1.1 Hz chipset also does not have power, so applications will load quite slowly. And many games just won’t work.
4. Anica i8
Dimensions: 90 x 45 mm
In 2018, the Chinese seemed to have conspired and decided to launch several models of very small smartphones on the market. Among them is Anica i8.
Despite the miniature dimensions, this device boasts a 2.5-inch screen, which for such a baby, you see, quite a lot. True, it is quite plump (almost 8 mm thick). But in addition to 200 grams of the smartphone, you get two cameras with a resolution of 2 MP and 5 MP, a 980 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM, and the ability to insert two SIM cards.
However, like many other Chinese products, Anica i8 will have to be “filed”. For example, manually delete a couple of sound files so that when you turn on the phone does not "please" the owner with loud Chinese music.
3. Aiek M5
Dimensions: 86 x 55 mm
In terms of dimensions, the Aiek M5 among the top 10 smallest cell phones is very thin - its thickness is only 5.3 mm and its weight reaches 35 g. And the diagonal of the screen is 1 inch.
This model is positioned as a “telephone card” and yes, it is about the size of a bank card. On a promotional photo, manufacturers love to shoot them side by side. It is clear that you can’t put a powerful battery in such a thin one, so I had to limit myself to a capacity of 320 mAh.
He has one SIM card, and the functionality is greatly reduced: there is wireless, radio, support for 2G networks and a lone additional speaker. You can’t log out of the Network.
2.iLight 7S
Dimensions: 76.2 x 25.4 mm
The creators (or promoters) of the device position the iLight 7S as the smallest Android phone, and at the same time in the style of the iPhone.
However, if at the same time you also want performance, it is better to look in a different direction. This smartphone has a 2.4-inch touchscreen display, an MTK processor with 4 cores, 8 GB of internal memory, it catches wi-fi, it can be connected wirelessly ... Oh yes, and it has a metal case. There are no other options, there is even no headphone jack. Have to use wireless.
1. Zanco Tiny T1
Dimensions: 46.7 x 21 mm
The smallest phone in the world is so tiny that it looks more like a toy. Somehow I can’t believe that inside this baby there is a real SIM card, and that you can call it for real.
Zanco Tiny T1 can easily be held between the thumb and forefinger. By design, it resembles the classic examples of the beginning of the two thousandth, with a miniature black and white display and large plastic buttons.
It has a headphone jack, a built-in microphone, and it is recharged via a micro-USB port. The interface, of course, is Spartan simplicity. The maximum that you get is a pointer to signal strength, battery power and sound volume. Neither Android nor iOS supports this cell phone, so you cannot control its voice.
Well, on such a tiny screen, reading messages is one torment; maximum one or two words will fit there. But how your friends will be surprised when a trill of a bell will sound from your breast pocket or wallet!
